It’s gut-wrenching and heart-breaking and something many mothers and fathers never completely recover from. Having lost a child myself, here are 10 ways I used to cope, heal, and eventually […]

BENHAM BROS: Gun Control, Or Heart Control?

(Via WND.com) – It’s easy to err to the extreme of either side of a political issue, but it’s much more difficult to stand at the midpoint of moral tension, speaking with clarity and conviction regardless of which way the political winds are blowing. This is what’s needed in today’s gun control debate. As much as we appreciate thousands of students gathering across the nation in the March For Our Lives protests, it’s important their passion not get hijacked by radical left politicians seeking yet another political power grab. Unfortunately, after the Parkland tragedy the loudest voices seem to be heading that direction while completely ignoring the fact that a hand holds the gun, and a heart controls the hand. The real issue at hand is not as much how government should control guns but how God could transform hearts – if only we acknowledged our need for Him. This would balance things out. There is not a police force big enough or legal policy strong enough to make a person do what is right – a heart bent on evil will eventually find a way to do it. Jesus said, “Out of heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, […]

DISGRACEFUL: Republican Congress And President Fully Fund Planned Parenthood… AGAIN

In the wee hours of Friday morning, the Republican-led U.S. Congress passed a $1.3 trillion fiscal 2018 Omnibus Bill to avert a government shutdown. I actually wish that the government WOULD shut down, permanently, as the Party which is supposed to represent God-fearing Americans is not doing their job. They have not been for a long time. For at least the 4th time that I can count, since the 2016 Election, a Republican government has passed a Bill which fully funds baby-murdering Planned Parenthood. Also, for at least the 4th time in just over a year, the Republican President has signed the Bill into Law. What a DISGRACE. While a little over 100 Congressional Republicans did oppose the Bill, voting against it, nearly 200 voted FOR IT. Now, you would think that would be the other way around. Sadly, the numbers don’t lie. The moral fabric of the once wholesome Grand Ole Party is in tatters. They TALK a good game against abortion while being interviewed on Cable News programs, and while campaigning for your vote, but as soon as they take office – NO ACTION. Instead of maybe chopping away at Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding during the Trump Presidency, […]

BENHAM BROS: Truth In Love – Have A Hard Head And A Soft Heart

(Via WND.com) – When entering into politically divisive conversations today, it’s important to do so with a hard head and a soft heart. In other words, the best way to enter the conversational “fray” in today’s culture is to have a hard head toward principle and a soft heart toward people. A hard head toward principle is to remain unbending on truth as God defines it, while a soft heart toward people is to love others unconditionally as God created them to be loved. When you are hard headed toward principle, while at the same time soft hearted toward people, it allows you to connect with the heart and not just simply “win the argument.” Jesus calls this speaking the truth in love. You definitely don’t want to be soft-headed and hard-hearted, because if you’re soft-headed toward principle, you’ll stand for nothing, getting tossed around like the waves of the sea. And if you’re hard-headed toward people, you’ll become insensitive, forcing others to “think like me!” So the key is to have a hard head and a soft heart – to speak the truth in love. I (David) had to live this out last week as my brother and I […]

COLLEGES PURGING CHRISTIANITY: Secular Universities Kicking Out Christians In Name Of “Inclusiveness”

Harvard College has placed the University’s largest Christian student group, “Harvard College Faith and Action” on administrative probation for simply adhering to their Christian beliefs. The Office of Student Life has disciplined the group because they had “pressured a female member to resign for dating a woman”. So, to be clear… a “Christian” group, whose members believe the “Christian” Holy Bible, rightly asked a member (claiming to be “Christian”) to resign for living in unrepentant SIN. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this picture. Harvard’s leadership is slapping their founders in the face. Believe it or not, this anti-Christian College was originally established as a Christian University in 1636 to train clergy, and is named after a Christian minister. If he were alive today, John Harvard himself would be telling the lesbian student to resign because of her willful disregard for the teachings of our Faith. He would be placing the Office of Student Life on probation. Unfortunately, men like him are no longer in leadership positions at the once prestigious Christian institution. Instead, the University has turned into a far-left liberal cesspool, priding themselves on “tolerance” and “diversity”, yet being extremely intolerant of adherents to the Faith of its […]

BENHAM BROS: We Christians Must Shine Our Lights In Morally Dark Culture

(Via WND.com) – Dr. Elton Trueblood, former chaplain for Stanford and Harvard Universities in the early 1900s, was once asked what the church in America would look like in the last half of the 20th century. His answer was prophetic. He said, “By the year 2000, Christians in America will be a conscious minority surrounded by an arrogant, militant paganism.” Today, we are here, which is why we believe Christians should prepare for one of two things: Christ’s return or a sweeping global revival. One thing we should not prepare to do is retreat into ourselves and wait out this paganism – because the same rising tide of evil that makes cowards run makes champions rise. In his book, “The Benedict Option: A Strategy for Christians in a Post-Christian Nation,” Rod Dreher brings an urgent word, much like Dr. Trueblood years before, revealing our nation’s deep moral and spiritual crisis. He says we are at the “end of a world … the floodwaters are upon us – and we (Christians) are not ready.” He’s spot on. We aren’t ready. Our churches are more like bounce houses than boot camps, enjoying the blessings of God in the nation rather than training […]
