Hillary Clinton has had numerous gaffes over the years and had plenty during the 2016 presidential campaign. But there were probably none bigger than calling supporters of Donald Trump &8220;deplorable.&8221;
However, the pro-abortion two-time failed presidential candidate has no regrets making the statement:
She also has zero regrets about calling Trump supporters deplorable, citing Trump’s behavior that was accentuated by the Access Hollywood tape that no one cared about. In the video, there’s a hot mic moment where Trump and then-co-host Billy Bush were making some off-color remarks about women.
Pauley and Clinton exchanged a few words about that moment in the campaign, where the CBS anchor noted that by calling Republicans “deplorable,” as Hillary did in September of 2016, she further energized the GOP base. Clinton disagreed with that, saying they were already energized. This was just another political gift to Trump. You mean it was another instance in which you shot yourself in the face, right? Hillary is obviously still shell-shocked over her loss and it will remain that way. The silver lining with all of this Clinton nonsense is that she has declared that she will never run for office again. She’s finished; so long, loser.
There were some memorable verbal gaffes, including when she said at a campaign appearance: &8220;You could put half of Trump&8217;s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.&8221;
&8220;Why do you think that word deplorable had been circulating in your mind?&8221; Pauley asked.
&8220;Well, I thought Trump was behaving in a deplorable manner,&8221; Clinton said. &8220;I thought a lot of his appeals to voters were deplorable. I thought his behavior, as we saw on the &8216;Access Hollywood&8217; tape, was deplorable. And there were a large number of people who didn&8217;t care. It did not matter to them. And he turned out to be a very effective reality TV star.&8221;
Clinton says she thinks her rival&8217;s opponents were &8220;already energized&8221; before her &8220;deplorable&8221; comment but conceded: &8220;I&8217;m sorry I gave him a political gift of any kind.&8221;

&8220;It was a gift,&8221; Pauley said.
&8220;I don&8217;t think that was determinative,&8221; Clinton said.
Sorry Hillary. You trashed Americans for their presidential preference and they held you accountable. What IS deplorable is refusing to apologize.
